• Difficult to qualify for surveys: With MyPoints, it can be difficult to qualify for surveys and many users are quickly screened out because of their background. When you are deemed ineligible, you have limited options to earn rewards. 
• Time wastage: It’s not always clear to the user when you are taking a survey or you are answering questions to qualify for the survey. This can waste time as you could be screened out after a few minutes of answering questions. 
• A high threshold to redeem cash: If you want to redeem cash, you need to meet the $25 threshold to withdraw your funds to PayPal.

To open an account with MyPoints, you will need to reside in the United States or Canada. Users must be over the age of 13 years and register with a valid email address. There is a $10 sign-up bonus for users that complete a $20+ shopping activity with a qualifying merchant within the first 30 days.

MyPoints will invite you to complete profile surveys that will ask for basic demographic information. You can earn 5 points for every 10 profile questions you answer, allowing you to start earning points immediately.

Points earned for surveys are determined by the length of the survey. Surveys can start from 50 points and go up to 600 points for longer surveys. MyPoints does not specify how many points you can earn from watching videos but requires you to watch playlists all the way through to receive the points.

To earn points for searching the web on Yahoo, you could be randomly selected to earn 170 points for search results.

MyPoints allows you to redeem points once you have reached a minimum threshold of $1 for gift card redemption and $25 for PayPal redemption. You can review your rewards options and choose from the following:

For travel rewards, members can redeem points for MileagePlus® award miles. You will require a MileagePlus account and should receive your miles within 48 hours of redemption. Currently, for travel within the U.S. (excluding Hawaii) and Canada, a minimum of 25,000 points is required. 

Gift cards offered can include online stores, restaurants, airlines, and hotels. Popular gift cards for online stores include Burger King, Sephora, Walmart, Bath & Body Works, Amazon Prime, CVS, Google Play, Groupon, Kohl’s, Nike, Petco, Visa, iTunes, Buffalo Wild Wings, Domino’s Pizza, Old Navy, and The Cheesecake Factory.

Trustpilot gives 4.4 out of 5 stars to MyPoints. Reviews are mixed where common complaints include not being able to qualify for surveys and wasting time in qualification. For some users, it can take a long time to collect enough points for redemption. 

Many participants enjoy the cash back received on purchases and the easy-to-use interface. Surveys can be enjoyable to complete.
