Embrace Pet Insurance sold its first insurance policy in 2006 and has grown into a market leader offering customizable coverage packages including illness, accidents, and an optional wellness plan.
The agency also offers a user-friendly mobile app that acts as a one-stop shop for all your pet insurance needs.
Embrace Pet Insurance requires your pet to be examined by veterinarian 12 months prior to enrollment for your coverage to start. If you do not have the medical examination report, you can still enroll your pet but you have to provide the report within 14 days from the date of sign up.

Once you have filled in this information, you need to provide your personal information and provide your active credit/debit card, or bank account information. You can customize your plan to fit your financial situation and pet’s needs, so you have control over the deductibles and reimbursement rates.
Your pet needs to be at least 6 weeks old for enrollment and younger than 15 years for the full comprehensive coverage. Dogs above 15 years can still be enrolled on accident-only coverage. If your pet is already enrolled before reaching the maximum age limit, the policy will continue to apply even after the 14 year age restriction.
Regardless of your pet’s health status or age, if already enrolled, your plan cannot be altered or dropped. However, you have the option to change your coverage.
Preventive care is available as an extra add-on and offers 100% reimbursement on wellness routine care expenses, such as vaccines, wellness exams, and screening, up to your chosen allotment amount.
Embrace Pet Insurance allows you to visit any licensed veterinary doctor in the US or outside when an incident occurs to your pet. Also, you can use their Pet Health Line for all your pet issues 24/7.
Your monthly premiums vary depending on your customized plan. You will have to check on their website to get a quote.
You can submit claims via direct mail, fax, email, uploaded online through their MyEmbrace portal or on their app. Embrace reimburses you on the covered claim when their claim support team approves it.
Claims on illnesses and injuries are typically processed within 10 to 15 business days from the day of verification, and wellness claims are usually processed within five business days. Claims can be reimbursed through direct deposits or checks, and direct deposit can take between 2-3 working days, while checks may take up to 7 working days.
Depending on your deductible and reimbursement rate, their insurance platform reimburses up to but not exceeding your annual limit as stated in the policy for covered claims.
